May 7th, 2014
WOONSOCKET, R.I. – MinuteClinic has opened its first retail health clinics inside CVS/pharmacy stores in central Georgia.
The CVS Caremark walk-in medical clinic subsidiary said Wednesday that two of its new locations are in Macon, Ga., and one is in Warner Robbins, Ga. Plans call for a third MinuteClinic to open in Macon next month.
CVS said Georgia now has 46 MinuteClinic locations, including clinics in the Atlanta and Savannah metropolitan areas.
MinuteClinic's entry into central Georgia is part of a national expansion plan to open 150 clinics nationwide in 2014, CVS added.
Overall, MinuteClinic now operates more than 800 locations in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
"Since opening our first store-based clinics in the Atlanta area in 2005, we have helped to expand access to high-quality, convenient and affordable care to thousands of Georgia residents who have visited us at CVS/pharmacy locations near where they live and work," MinuteClinic president Andrew Sussman, who's also senior vice president and associate chief medical officer at CVS Caremark, said in a statement.
