CCA Industries mourns death of CEO
February 11th, 2013
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – Dunnan Edell, president and chief executive officer of CCA Industries, has died. His father, David Edell, the company's founder and former CEO, has agreed to resume the CEO’s role.
David Edell had retired at the end of 2011.
The company’s board of directors has appointed Stephen Heit to the position of president, in addition to his role as chief financial officer. Heit previously served as president of AM Cosmetics.
In addition, Drew Edell has been appointed a director until the next annual shareholders’ meeting.
“I am very grateful that David Edell has agreed to accept the position of chief executive officer,” says Stanley Kreitman, chairman of the board. “This is a terrible time for David and his family, and I think it is admirable that, despite his overwhelming grief over the sudden loss of his son, he has agreed to help the company out, always keeping in mind the best interests of the shareholders. We are also grateful that Stephen Heit has accepted the position of president. Steve’s previous experience will provide important continuity with our customers and employees.”
CCA manufactures and markets a range of health and beauty aids, including Plus White toothpaste and teeth whiteners, Mega-T diet supplements, Mega-T Green Tea gum and mint products, Bikini Zone medicated topical and shave gels, Nutra Nail nail care treatments, Gel Perfect UV-free gel color, Scar Zone scar treatment products, Sudden Change anti-aging skin care products, Cherry Vanilla fragrances, Solar Sense sun protection products, and Hair Off hair removal and depilatory products.
