Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts hit shelves at Walgreens

February 19th, 2013

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Pharmavite's Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts children's dietary supplement brand is now being sold at Walgreens stores nationwide.

The company said Tuesday that Walgreens is the latest major retailer to carry Voots, a fruit- and vegetable-based supplement for kids ages 4 and older that provides the vitamin C antioxidant power of three servings of fruit and vegetables in two chewable, berry-flavored tarts.

Last fall, Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts made its debut nationwide in key retailers, including Target and Amazon.com. The suggested retail price is $9.99 for a 14-count carton.

"We are excited that Walgreens customers across the country will now have access to our new and tasty Voots supplements," stated Erin O’Malia Gehan, vice president of marketing for Pharmavite. "These delicious, chewable tarts come in single-serve packets so that on-the-go, busy parents can easily and conveniently include Voots Veggie-Fruit Tarts in their kids' lunchboxes, backpacks or while out and about to help give their kids a boost of antioxidants."

Made with no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, Voots supplements feature a blend of 11 fruits and vegetables (apples, cranberries, oranges, prunes, raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, carrots, sweet potatoes, zucchinis and green beans) that have been dried and crushed. After blending with vitamin C and other ingredients, the combination is pressed into tablets for a great-tasting supplement that delivers an antioxidant boost for kids, according to Pharmavite, which added that parents can take Voots as well.

Pharmavite noted that Voots supplements contain 60 mg of vitamin C per serving, compared with 19 mg per serving, or 58 mg per three servings, for the average vitamin C content of the top 20 most commonly consumed fruits and the top 20 most commonly consumed vegetables.
