MATTHEWS, N.C. – Former CVS Caremark Corp. executive Jim Trappani has joined Family Dollar Stores Inc. as vice president of health and beauty aids.

“Health and beauty aids play a growing and important role to our customer,” Family Dollar president and chief operating officer Mike Bloom says. “Jim brings nearly 30 years of experience in the HBA category, and through his leadership and supplier relationships we will continue to grow the assortment, perfecting the mix to better meet the needs of our core customer and growing trade-in consumer.”

Trappani spent six years at CVS, serving most recently as vice president of merchandising for consumer health. He is credited with helping increase penetration of private brands at the chain, and with managing CVS’ largest business unit.

At Family Dollar Trappani is in charge of health and beauty aids. Reporting to him are buyers Kelly Coble, Ann Gustin, Terry Cerwick and Latrisa Wedgeworth and associate buyer Jason Atkins.

Trappani reports to senior vice president and general merchandise manager John Scanlon.
