Retirement on horizon for Rickard

March 16th, 2009

WOONSOCKET, R.I. – CVS Caremark Corp. executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer Dave Rickard says he will retire at the end of the year.

The 62-year-old Rickard has been with the company since 1999.

Before that he guided the finances of RJR Nabisco Holdings Corp., playing a key role in the restructuring of the tobacco and food giant in the mid-1990s. Earlier in his career Rickard spent time with Grand Metropolitan PLC and Philip Morris Cos.

In 2004 Britain’s Corporate Finance magazine named Rickard one of the 20 most influential CFOs of the past 20 years, citing the roles he played in RJR Nabisco’s turnaround and in establishing CVS as the industry leader in sales performance, productivity and earnings growth.

CVS Caremark says its search for a new CFO will focus on candidates from both inside and outside the company.
