Navarro kicks off renovation program with flagship store
August 16th, 2010
MIAMI – Navarro Discount Pharmacies has upgraded and reopened its flagship store in Miami and plans similar upgrades for other drug store locations.
The retailer recently held a grand reopening of its original store at 1243 S.W. 8 St. in Miami, which opened in 1961 as El Nacional Drug Store. Navarro notes that the event was attended by hundreds of customers, along with Miami mayor Tomas Regalado, the City of Miami Commission, and local business owners and residents.
The renovation of the 10,000-square-foot store included a new merchandise layout, new colors and enhanced signage. The store also features such improved customer services as a pediatric pharmacy window for parents, free compounding pharmacy services, a free Diabetes Club for adults and children with diabetes, and free prescription delivery for all customers.
Other stores in the 28-unit chain are scheduled to undergo similar renovations and service enhancements.
Weeks before the flagship store’s reopening, Navarro launched its Customer Experience program, which the retailer notes has been designed to save customers time and money while enhancing their shopping experience by providing additional convenience and pharmacy services.
The initiative includes free prescription delivery, compounding pharmacy services with free delivery, a pediatric pharmacy area in select locations, extended hours at several stores and a competitor price-matching program for fragrances.
The reopening of the store is the latest in a series of innovations being carried out by the chain drug retailer. Recently, it added a pediatric prescription window at one of its Miami outlets to assist parents with urgent health care needs for their children.
