Steve Anderson, president and chief executive officer of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, has praised President Obama for signing into law legislation that extends durable medical equipment (DME) accreditation. Walgreen Co. has agreed to buy 12 Eaton Apothecary pharmacies in the Boston area from D.A.W. Inc. for about $19 million.
