Majority Leader Harry Reid to support an accreditation exemption for pharmacies selling Medicare Part B durable medical equipment before the March 1 enforcement deadline. Kerr Drug chairman and chief executive officer Tony Civello represented the National Association of Chain Drug Stores in a White House event on the economy with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Walgreen Co. plans to buy metropolitan New York drug chain Duane Reade in a deal valued at nearly $1.1 billion. Walgreen Co. said it will keep filling Medicaid prescriptions at its Washington state pharmacies through March 15.
