NCPDP launches pharmacy legislation portal
January 27th, 2011
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) has gone live with RxReconn, an online portal tracking pharmacy-related legislative and regulatory activity.
NCPDP said Thursday that RxReconn is designed to provide subscribers with real-time, actionable intelligence on health care legislation and regulation at the federal and state levels. Besides timely access to legislative activity, the Web portal offers subscribers customized reports so they can better monitor and analyze key developments in pharmacy legislation of interest.
"As an organization founded on the principle of engaging health care stakeholders in open dialogue to improve patient outcomes and care, we are pleased to make this product available to subscribers through our licensing arrangement with State Net," NCPDP president Lee Ann Stember said in a statement.
RxReconn, NCPDP's custom State Net portal, delivers summary information on legislative and regulatory activity on pharmacy-related issues such as Medicare Part D, electronic prescribing, medication therapy management (MTM), insurance prescription coverage, prescription packaging and labeling, mail order pharmacy, Medicaid prescription programs, pedigree requirements, pharmacy practice, prescription forms, single-payer health care reform, state prescription assistance programs, workers compensation prescription coverage and state sales tax exemptions, the pharmacy standards organization said.
RxReconn is available to NCPDP members for an annual subscription fee, and the group's members can visit the site to find out more information and subscribe.
State Net is a provider of legislative intelligence. NCPDP said it licenses State Net's reporting database services to help its work groups respond quickly to proposed legislation that may create the need for new or revised standards.
