Rite Aid serves up online, in-store holiday promos
November 29th, 2011
CAMP HILL, Pa. – To continue the momentum from the Black Friday weekend, Rite Aid Corp. has launched a pair of new holiday promotions for shoppers perusing its website and/or its drug stores.
The drug chain on Monday unveiled Cyber Week, which offers special deals on common purchases at riteaidonlinestore.com, and Season of Savings, which enables members of its wellness+ loyalty program to earn instant rewards when visiting any of its 4,700 brick-and-mortar stores.
Launched in tandem with Cyber Monday (Nov. 28), traditionally one of the busiest days of the year for online shopping, Cyber Week offers such deals as 20% off when spending $50 or more; buy one and get one free on select vitamins; buy one and get one 50% off on select lip, face and eye cosmetics; buy one and get one free on select shaving products; and buy one and get one free on personalized photo calendars.
Meanwhile, the Season of Savings promo — which Rite Aid said is similar to its previous Gift of Savings programs in past years — rewards up to $40 in instant savings to wellness+ customers who buy select products, which are marked with a red Savings Star on store shelf tags, in newspaper circulars and online. The specially marked products change weekly.
And over four consecutive weeks ending Christmas Eve, wellness+ members who spend $50 on select products can earn an instant $10 +UP Reward that is used like cash on a future Rite Aid purchase. Cumulative purchase totals appear on the bottom of register receipts and are reset every Sunday, the retailer said.
