Take Care Clinics enable online appointments
January 17th, 2012
DEERFIELD, Ill. – Take Care Health Systems has added a real-time scheduling option in which patients can now set up Take Care Clinic appointments online or in the clinic.
The Walgreen Co. health clinic subsidiary said Tuesday that the new scheduling flexibility improves patient access to its health care services and fosters transparency in care.
Besides enabling patients to schedule Take Care Clinic appointments online, takecarehealth.com provides access to a cost menu so they can quickly evaluate the cost of services. The site, too, gives estimated wait times at each clinic; local information on patient satisfaction scores; and market-specific quality of care scores based on National Center for Quality Assurance Health Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) guidelines, used by more than 90% of U.S. health plans to gauge health care delivery performance.
"Our goal is always to leverage leading technology and practices to help our patients receive the care they need, on their terms, and the ability to offer appointments will help us do just that," Heather Helle, divisional vice president for the Walgreens Consumer Solutions Group, said in a statement. "Now patients or health systems partners can easily evaluate which clinic location makes the most sense for a visit at a convenient time, and we believe this will ultimately help create the simpler and easier health care experience that is being sought by patients and their health care providers."
Overall, Take Care Health Systems operates more than 350 Take Care Clinic walk-in health care centers in Walgreens drug stores nationwide.
