Rite Aid goes to one provider for print, digital circulars

SUSSEX, Wis. – Rite Aid Corp. has named a single printer to handle its weekly newspaper circular as well as the digital version.

Quad/Graphics Inc. said Friday that it has entered a new multiyear agreement with Rite Aid to become the exclusive printer of the drug chain's retail inserts and to produce the online editions of its weekly circular.

Previously, Quad/Graphics printed Rite Aid's insert advertising for eastern states, and effective April 1 the company will pick up all western distribution. The agreement also includes additional page preparation and related media workflow solutions, as well as the additional freight work to support nationwide distribution.

"Quad/Graphics will now be printing our inserts coast to coast and also producing our digital online editions," Jim Pilsner, vice president of advertising at Rite Aid, said in a statement. "Our customers across the country will be able to access Rite Aid promotions in print, online and mobile channels, with complex Quad/Graphics geo-versioning ensuring they get the right content in the right place at the right time."
