Bartell Drugs set to move HQ

August 9th, 2012

SEATTLE – This fall, Bartell Drugs plans to relocate its corporate headquarters to West Seattle.

The Puget Sound-area drug chain said that in October it expects to move from its location on Denver Avenue South in the Georgetown industrial area south of downtown Seattle to the West Seattle Corporate Center at Delridge Way Southwest.

Bartell's new corporate facility will occupy 32,000 square feet of the West Seattle Corporate Center, which was originally constructed in 1991 as the headquarters for Services Group of America.

"We're excited about the move and the built-in advantages it will provide for nearly 100 employees and visiting vendors," Jean Bartell Barber, vice chairman and treasurer of Bartell Drugs, said in a statement. She cited upgraded fiber optic capabilities, more convenient parking, easy access to major arterials, mass transit options and nearby amenities.

Bartell Drugs has occupied its current headquarters location since 1989. The site once housed the company's headquarters and warehouse facilities, which in recent years have been separated.

The family-owned chain operates 58 drug stores in Washington's King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.
