October 24th, 2012
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bi-Lo this week began offering giveaways to spur flu prevention under its "Shield Yourself" campaign.
The Southeast food and drug chain said Wednesday that through Oct. 30, Bi-Lo BonusCard members who receive an in-store flu vaccine at any of the retailer's in-store pharmacies can also get the following flu prevention items: a 64 oz. Southern Home concentrated orange juice, a 35-count package of Domestix disinfectant wipes, a 160-count box of Southern Home facial tissue, and an 8 oz. Top Care hand sanitizer.
"We offer Bi-Lo customers quick and easy options to receive vaccines while they do their grocery shopping," John Fegan, vice president of pharmacy for Bi-Lo, said in a statement. "The health and wellness deal offered with vaccines serves as an important tool for our shoppers to prevent the flu for themselves, their families and the community."
This year, Bi-Lo's flu vaccination program offers three options: the standard vaccination, the Fluzone high-dose vaccine recommended for those 65 and older, and an intradermal flu vaccination administered with a microneedle that's 90% smaller than traditional needles.
With the BonusCard, the standard vaccine is priced at $24.99, the intradermal vaccine at $29.99 and the Fluzone high-dose vaccine at $44.99. Customers can get a flu shot at any Bi-Lo pharmacy on a walk-in basis.
