CVS launches mobile photo printing service in stores

November 14th, 2012

WOONSOCKET, R.I. – A new service at CVS/pharmacy enables customers to upload digital images from a mobile device to Kodak stations in its stores to create a wide range of photo products.

CVS said Wednesday that with the in-store mobile printing service, launched in time for the holiday season, consumers can wirelessly upload images from a smartphone or other mobile device to a Kodak Picture Kiosk and get photo prints as well as photo gifts and products such as photo books, personal greetings, calendars and other items at CVS/pharmacy Photo Center locations nationwide.

To use the service, customers must download the free Kodak Kiosk Connect App from Google Play or the Apple App Store in order to import personal photos from their mobile device to CVS' Kodak Picture Kiosks. Once their device is synched to the kiosk, consumers are shown simple, intuitive steps to get started and start creating their products.

"With the addition of the new in-store mobile printing service, available at thousands of CVS/pharmacy Photo Centers, our customers have another convenient option for creating photo gifts and greeting cards," Rob Price, chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy, said in a statement. "Offering Wi-Fi access at our photo kiosks is part of our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with easy, one-stop shopping for personalized gifts this holiday season."

Besides in-store photo services, CVS/pharmacy already offers shoppers on-the-go printing options with the CVS/pharmacy mobile app, which enables them to print photos right from their smartphone or from their CVSphoto.com account for pickup at a local CVS drug store the same day.
