CVS Caremark hires chief digital officer

WOONSOCKET, R.I. – Staples Inc. executive Brian Tilzer has joined CVS Caremark Corp. as chief digital officer.
CVS said Monday that Tilzer will develop and lead teams driving the pharmacy company's digital innovation efforts, including connecting current and future digital initiatives and ensuring that CVS uses the most innovative technology.
Most recently at Staples, Tilzer served as senior vice president of global e-commerce. While at the office products retailer, he developed and led several multichannel digital innovation strategies, according to CVS.
Overall, Tilzer brings to CVS more than 20 years of experience in strategic business development, operations and information technology, with a focus on corporate and e-commerce strategy.
"We know that digital tools — such as mobile, social media and other online platforms — are a convenient and easy way for our customers to manage their health and access our products," Helena Foulkes, executive vice president and chief health care strategy and marketing officer of CVS Caremark, said in a statement. "Brian has a proven track record of developing innovative strategies that build business and enhance customer service.
