CHICAGO – Albertsons Cos. and Soda Health announce a new expanded service offering, making it even easier for Medicare Advantage members to use their supplemental benefits. Soda Health is the first and currently only benefits card to be accepted by Albertsons.com, the grocery chain’s online portal for ordering and delivery, raising the bar for the Medicare Advantage member experience.

“We pride ourselves on having convenient locations that make it easy for everyone to visit – but we also know that it’s not always practical to make a trip to the store when you’re busy or living with a health condition,” said Irina Pelphrey, Vice President of Health at Albertsons. “Medicare Advantage supplemental benefits help millions of Americans access the products they need to live healthier lives. Through our partnership with Soda Health, we’re now fully equipped to be the retailer of choice for beneficiaries so they can shop their favorite Albertsons’ stores, in-store and online.”

More than 30 million Americans use Medicare Advantage supplemental benefits to pay for over-the-counter (OTC) products and food to help them live healthier lives. In California alone, there are 3.5 million Medicare Advantage beneficiaries. Medicare Advantage benefits have seen an increased ease of use in recent years, with beneficiaries moving from mail order-only limitations to purchasing with their supplemental benefit cards in retail stores. Today’s announcement enables those same beneficiaries to spend their benefit dollars at their favorite retailer, now with added convenience of online shopping and delivery.
