WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Health was recognized by FORTUNE magazine as one of the World’s Most Admired Companies for the seventh consecutive year. The company placed number 32 on the annual rankings, up six spots from last year, and was ranked number 1 in the “Health Care: Pharmacy and Other Services” category.

“Over the past year, our nearly 300,000 employees have worked tirelessly to help the communities we serve manage through the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Karen S. Lynch, President and CEO, CVS Health. “The honor of being recognized as one of the world’s most admired companies is a testament to the commitment and dedication of our team.”

CVS Health has played an unparalleled role in helping the country respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company currently operates over 4,800 COVID-19 testing sites at CVS Pharmacy locations and has conducted more than 10 million tests. CVS Pharmacy teams have administered more than two million COVID-19 vaccine shots at long-term care facilities across the country, and the company has the capacity to administer 20 – 25 million shots per month in retail settings subject to product availability. More than 90,000 health care professionals will take part in the vaccination effort.

In addition to its pandemic response, CVS Health has committed nearly $600 million over five years to advance employee, community and public policy initiatives that address inequity faced by Black people and other disenfranchised communities. This work includes mentoring, sponsorship and development of diverse employees; expanding the company’s workforce initiatives to provide employment services and training to underserved communities; addressing social determinants of health, such as housing; and increasing access to health care while working to reduce health disparities, among others.

FORTUNE’s Most Admired Companies lists are among the most highly respected indicators of corporate performance and reputation. The lists rate companies on various attributes including the ability to attract and retain talented people, quality of products and services, quality of management, innovation, social responsibility, and investment value.
