CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Customer rewards kiosks featuring 3D holographic videos are slated to be deployed at 200 Rite Aid stores starting early next year.
Provision Interactive Technologies Inc. said Tuesday that plans call for its 3D Savings Center kiosks to be rolled out to Rite Aid stores in the New York and Los Angeles markets.
The kiosks project 3D holographic videos in front of the screen and include exclusive information for wellness+, Rite Aid’s customer loyalty program, as well as other promotions from the retailer, according to Provision.
Under the agreement, the initial phase of the rollout will include the integration of Rite Aid’s wellness+ to enable the loyalty program’s members to access their account details and load digital coupons to their cards for instant savings while in the Rite Aid stores. Additional Rite Aid stores are expected to receive Savings Centers throughout 2015.
The 3D Savings Center kiosk contains Provision’s 3D holographic display, which the company said has been proven to draw retail customers’ attention. Each unit also has a 2D interactive touchscreen that provides consumers access to wellness+ information as well as Rite Aid promotions, rewards and coupons.
In addition, brand marketers will be able to showcase their products via 3D advertising and engage viewers through the interactive touchscreen interface. The kiosks also can print coupon offers, enabling Rite Aid and other advertisers to offer customers effective sales influencers at the point of purchase.
"We are very excited about the commencement of our production rollout," Curt Thornton, president and chief executive officer of Provision, said in a statement. "Rite Aid customers will enjoy an engaging 3D holographic experience and be immediately rewarded with coupons, promotions and other giveaways for in-store products. They can also access information on local health care providers who are advertising their services through our kiosks."
Provision announced the agreement to deploy the kiosks at Rite Aid stores last year.
