ABBOTT PARK, Ill. — Abbott has rolled out ZonePerfect Cookie Dough Bars, which the company said is the first line of soft, chewy cookie dough nutrition bars providing antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and an excellent source of protein.
The health care company’s Abbott Nutrition unit said Wednesday that the ZonePerfect Cookie Dough bars blend "taste, texture and nutrition" and come in three flavors: chocolate chip, peanut butter and oatmeal raisin.
Abbott said the ready-to-eat nutrition bars provide 10 grams of protein, are a good source of 17 vitamins and minerals, and are rich in antioxidants (including vitamins C and E plus selenium).
ZonePerfect Cookie Dough snack bars contain 170 to 190 calories per serving and a balance of carbohydrates, protein and fat to help satisfy snackers on the go, according to the company. There is no raw egg in the bars.
"We’ve always taken a creative approach to nutrition, giving people a way to get important vitamins, minerals and protein but without sacrificing great taste," stated Monica Hysell, division vice president and general manager of global performance nutrition for Abbott Nutrition. "The new ZonePerfect Cookie Dough bars combine breakthrough cookie-inspired flavors, essential nutrients and a soft, chewy texture for a delicious snack that could have you rethinking traditional cookie dough."
ZonePerfect Cookie Dough bars are available nationwide in the nutrition aisle at grocery stores, drug stores and mass merchandisers and are sold individually or in packs of five.
