ZAANDAM, Netherlands — Ahold Delhaize has appointed Farhan Siddiqi as chief digital officer and member of the retailer’s executive committee, effective January 28.
Siddiqi will drive digital transformation and innovation across Ahold Delhaize’s brands, focusing on shopper loyalty, data analytics and personalization, the company said Tuesday in announcing the appointment.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Farhan to Ahold Delhaize. With his knowledge of the digital customer experience in a wide variety of industries, he will help further accelerate Ahold Delhaize’s digital transformation, a key element in our Leading Together strategy,” said Frans Muller, Ahold Delhaize’s president and chief executive officer. “Farhan will drive best practice sharing in digital and e-commerce across our great local brands while leveraging our global scale, supporting us in doubling net consumer online sales to around 7 billion euros by 2021.”
Siddiqi is joining Ahold Delhaize from McDonald’s, where served as chief digital officer and led the launch of mobile commerce, including the introduction of a mobile app and the upgrade of self-service ordering kiosks.
Earlier in his career, Siddiqi focused on implementing successful customer loyalty programs, digital payment solutions and the launch of strategic partnerships while holding leadership positions at Bank of America, Target Corp, and General Electric.
