CLEVELAND — American Greetings Corp. has launched a special promotion with music star Taylor Swift and CoverGirl for Mother’s Day.

The greeting card company said Wednesday that it’s offering Swift’s song "The Best Day," which she dedicated to her mother, in a CD single in an exclusive Mother’s Day card, along with Swift’s full Mother’s Day collection.

In addition, American Greetings, Swift and CoverGirl have teamed up to ask fans to share "The Best Day" they’ve spent with their mom on a special tab on the card maker’s Facebook page (facebook.com/americangreetings) for a chance to win hundreds of dollars in prizes.

American Greetings said 13 winners will be selected at random to receive special prizes. One grand prize winner will get an autographed Taylor Swift "Speak Now" CD and an American Greetings/CoverGirl gift pack. A dozen winners will get prize packages including Taylor Swift memorabilia plus American Greetings and CoverGirl products.

In 2009, American Greetings and Swift announced a partnership to introduce new card collections written and inspired by the singer-songwriter. Last spring, she was announced as the newest CoverGirl ambassador and has been featured in advertising for several of the brand’s popular new makeup products. All 18 Taylor Swift Mother’s Day greeting cards can be found at select retail stores nationwide.

"Taylor’s relationship with her own mom not only inspired this song, but also her Mother’s Day card collection, and we are so proud of it because it gives people a way to tell their moms just how awesome they think they are in a way that’s honest and real," commented Lindsay Kalback, a member of "Team Taylor" at American Greetings. "It’s been great to work with Taylor and CoverGirl to put together this Facebook contest so that fans can tell their stories about their moms in their own words and share their best day with others."
