CLEVELAND — American Greetings is bringing the excitement of dancing to greeting cards with the debut of its new Dance Machine card line.

The company said Tuesday that the Dance Machine cards combine music and motion "in a hilarious new way" with bobble-head characters that "dance" along to a festive song. The characters "spring to life" as soon as the card is opened, revealing mobile arms and legs that move in rhythm to the music.

"Music cards are popular with our consumers because they add that extra celebratory element, and with Dance Machine we wanted to take that to the next level," commented Mary McClain, creative director of new product concepts at American Greetings. "The cards are a lot of fun because they offer that great initial surprise and then a hilarious punch line as the character wraps up their unique dance."

American Greetings said consumers can find the new Dance Machine cards at participating drug store chains, supermarkets and supercenters nationwide.
