CLEVELAND — American Greetings is spicing up its Halloween card lineup with the new Costume Critters collection.
Each card in the Costume Critters line features cute photo pets who sing and dance to their own theme songs in “spooky-sweet” costumes, American Greetings said. Card recipients push a button to see pumpkin pails light up and paws move and groove to festive tunes, according to the company.
Designs in the American Greetings Costume Critters collection include a tiara-wearing pug princess, a ninja puppy ready to crush some candy and a witchy kitten who’s far from wicked.
“Similar to costumes, Halloween celebrations can be funny or scary,” stated Carol Miller, vice president of corporate innovation at American Greetings. “The Costume Critters collection showcases the lighter side of the holiday with a memorable combination of delightfully dressed pets, cheerful lights and motion and an unexpected spin on familiar songs.”
American Greetings added that it has rolled out more than 150 new greeting card formats under the Inventions brand, which combine new twists on technology in cards with clever copy and celebratory artwork for a novel way to celebrate birthdays and other happy occasions.
Costume Critters cards are sold at food, drug and mass retail chainsnationwide, as well as at American Greetings and Carlton Cards retail stores.
