CLEVELAND — Adding to its lineup of interactive cards, American Greetings Corp. has launched Opening Acts greeting cards for Valentine’s Day.

The company said Friday that the fun collection features cards paired with specially designed envelopes that play a song or sound when opened.

Ranging from "love-inspired" hit songs such as "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" to a humorous take on the romantic allure of a French accent, Opening Acts card envelopes are designed to enhance the traditional gesture of sharing a card and make it a unique experience for their recipients on Feb. 14, according to American Greetings.

"Valentine’s Day is all about the romantic surprise and that definitely extends to the card aisle," commented Carol Miller, executive director of new product concepts at American Greetings. "With Opening Acts, we’re able to help couples start their celebrations off in a really fun and unexpected way, and we’re very excited for all of those romantics out there to share this great surprise with their special someone."

The company said Opening Acts greeting cards are available now at drug chains, grocery stores and mass retailers nationwide.
