“We are proud to open our newest office in the vibrant city of Carrollton and continue to build on AmerisourceBergen’s longstanding presence in Texas. As an industry leader, we are constantly working to attract and retain the most talented associates, and we thoughtfully designed this building with that mission in mind,” said Steve Collis, chairman, president and chief executive officer of AmerisourceBergen, who began his career with AmerisourceBergen 25 years ago in the company’s Texas offices. “Our desire was to create a space that motivates, inspires and enables our associates to bring their best self to work each day, because their engagement is critical in our ability to fulfill AmerisourceBergen’s purpose of creating healthier futures for all.”
As a part of AmerisourceBergen’s efforts to promote sustainability and employee wellbeing, the new office, located in the Austin Ranch Community, is actively pursuing a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification, and is smoke and tobacco-free. A sustainability roadmap was created to guide the design and ensure optimized operations and energy and water savings. The facility also includes a community garden, tended to by associates, which will offer fresh produce and other plants, as well as a Serenity Area for quiet reflection and meditation.
“I thank AmerisourceBergen for its continued investment in the Lone Star State and for its commitment to bringing more jobs to the people of North Texas,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “This new corporate campus is a testament to our business-friendly climate and top-notch workforce, which make Texas the premier economic destination in America. I look forward to building upon this strong business partnership as we continue Texas’ economic success story.”
The AmerisourceBergen Foundation, an independent not-for-profit charitable giving organization focused on supporting health-related causes that enrich that global community, also announced donations totaling $25,000 to two local organizations. The Foundation will provide community grants to Operation Kindness, the largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas, and Metrocrest Services, which provides programs that lead to self-sufficiency and foster independence for individuals, families and seniors living in the region.
“With a focus on both human and animal health, AmerisourceBergen and the AmerisourceBergen Foundation are committed to building strong communities. We are grateful to be a part of the city of Carrollton and wanted to partner with organizations close to the hearts of our associates here,” said Gina Clark, President of the AmerisourceBergen Foundation. “Operation Kindness and Metrocrest Services are pillars of the local community and we are proud to call them our neighbors.”
The new property was developed by Billingsley Company and constructed by StructureTone Southwest. Gensler was the architect for the building and its interior. JLL provided developer oversight and interiors project management. JLL previously assisted with the site selection and lease negotiation of the new office. The property will be managed by Billingsley Company.
In addition to the new Carrollton location, AmerisourceBergen has more than 130 offices globally. Across all locations, the company looks for innovative ways to reduce energy consumption and cost and makes significant investments in distribution infrastructure and advanced warehouse management systems to optimize operations of the entire pharmaceutical supply channel.
