DAYTON, N.J. — Aurobindo Pharma Ltd. has received the first Abbreviated New Drug Application approval from the Food and Drug Administration for cefixime for oral suspension, USP, 100 mg/5 ml and 200 mg/5 ml.
Cefixime for O.S. is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to Suprax from Lupin Pharmaceuticals Inc. It is indicated for the treatment of certain types of bacterial infections.
The company said that Cefixime for O.S. has been launched by Aurobindo Pharma USA.
A cephalosporin antibiotic, cefixime is used to treat infections of the throat, middle ear, airways and urinary tract caused by certain bacteria.
