McKesson elects pair of new board members

Donald Knauss and Susan Salka have been named as new independent directors at McKesson Corp. The pharmaceutical distribution giant said Monday that the appointments of Knauss and Salka are effective Oct. 20.

Lilly set to release Trulicity pen for type 2 diabetes

Eli Lilly and Co. has been cleared to market Trulicity, a medication for type 2 diabetes. Lilly said Thursday Trulicity (dulaglutide) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Four of the nation’s largest retail pharmacy operators have adopted the Surescripts Immunization Registry Reporting service. Walgreens currently uses Surescripts Immunization Registry Reporting in 7,900 of its drug stores.

Care Pharmacies to migrate to new Rx platform

Shoppers Drug Mart has kicked off its 13th annual Tree of Life campaign, which raises funds in support of women’s health. The Canadian drug chain, part of Loblaw Cos., said this year’s goal is to raise $3.1 million to help fund local women’s health charities across the country.

MinuteClinic opens new locations in Memphis

MinuteClinic is adding more walk-in medical clinic locations in the Memphis, Tenn., metropolitan area. The CVS Health subsidiary said Friday that three clinics opened in Memphis and Cordova earlier this month. Plans call for a fourth clinic to open in Springfield on Sept.
