Safeway poll: Not everyone who believes in flu shots gets one

Most people think flu shots help ward off influenza, yet many of those same individuals don’t end up getting immunized, a new survey from Safeway Inc. finds. The Safeway Seasonal Wellness Survey revealed that 60% of Americans believe that flu vaccinations are effective in preventing the flu.

Diabetes screenings upcoming from Sam’s Club

Same-store sales climb in August at Walgreens

Walgreen Co. turned in a robust same-store sales performance in August after calendar day shifts impacted results the previous month. Walgreens said Tuesday that August comparable-store sales rose 5.6%, compared with a 2.7% increase in July and in line with strong gains of 4.8% in June and 5.
