On the drug chain’s board, Segrave replaces Brian Unmacht, who was appointed as president and chief executive officer of Bartell Drugs in April. Unmacht joined Bartell’s management as president in January and has served on the retailer’s board since 2011.
Segrave is the president and CEO of Silvergate Pharmaceuticals, which he founded in 2010. Silvergate is a specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on pediatric patients.
Segrave has 31 years of experience in retail, merchandising, distribution, sales, managed care and marketing. Before starting Silvergate, he served as executive vice president at Cardinal Health, and prior to that he was vice president of pharmacy at Walmart.
“Frank has wide-ranging experience and stature within our industry, and both Jean and I are very excited about the perspectives he’ll bring to the board as we plan for future growth and success,” said company chairman George Bartell, whose sister, Jean Bartell Barber, is vice chairman and treasurer.
