SEATTLE — Bartell’s announced it collected over 49,000 bears during 2019’s Teddy Bear Patrol donation drive.
The Teddy Bear Patrol, a program created by local radio station – WARM 106.9, helps those interacting with first responders find calmness in stressful situations through the comfort of a teddy bear. This year was the most successful donation drive in over three decades. In the last four weeks, 49,604 bears were collected for the program.
“Every April, we join forces with our generous customers to raise donations for the Teddy Bear Patrol. We had a fantastic turnout in 2018, but the unbelievable efforts of those involved this year helped us nearly double our donation numbers. It was a complete team effort and I’m so proud of what we have accomplished,” said Adam Wampler, senior vice president of operations at Bartell Drugs.
All Bartell’s locations participated in the donation drive and for every bear purchased, Bartell’s matched the contribution, bear for bear.
