FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J. — William Kozy has been appointed chief operating officer at Becton, Dickinson & Co. (BD).
The medical device, equipment and supplies company said Tuesday that Kozy adds the COO title to his current position of executive vice president.
Kozy will continue to report to Vincent Forlenza, chairman, president and chief executive officer of BD.
"Bill’s new title reflects his leadership role and the additional responsibilities that he has taken on over the last year, including oversight of BD’s three business segments and working with me to drive BD’s growth and innovation focus," Forlenza stated.
Kozy, 60, joined BD in 1974 in a sales role in the BD division selling laboratory products, and that focus on blood collection eventually led to his first general management position as president of BD Vacutainer Systems, the company said. His subsequent leadership positions include president of BD Worldwide Injection Systems, senior vice president of company operations, president of BD Diagnostics and executive vice president.
