WILTON, Conn. — Beiersdorf Inc. has made several key promotions and appointments to its management team in North America that are slated to go into effect next month.
The global skin care products company — whose brands include Nivea, Eucerin, Aquaphor and La Prairie — said Tuesday that Iain Holding, currently president of Beiersdorf North America, has been promoted to the global role of corporate vice president of global sales strategy. The position is based at the Beiersdorf’s global headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
Succeeding Holding as president of Beiersdorf North America will be Robert Taylor-Hughes, who is now managing director of Beiersdorf Middle East, North Africa and West Asia.
In addition, Magnus Jonsson, currently director of marketing for Nivea for Men and Consumer Insights, has been promoted to vice president of marketing for Beiersdorf Inc., His new role includes oversight of the Nivea, Nivea for Men, Nivea Lip Care, Nivea Body Wash, Eucerin and Aquaphor brands. Jonsson replaces Nicolas Maurer, who Beiersdorf announced in June was promoted to corporate vice president of global skin care.
Beiersdorf said all of the new executive changes will be effective in October.
The company noted that Holding led the redesign of its North American affiliate’s business strategy and the refocusing of the group’s core business and the development of the Nivea, Eucerin and Aquaphor brands, which has resulted in double-digit growth during the last four years.
Jonsson, meanwhile, has played an influential role in the development of Nivea’s U.S. brand strategy and in turn made a significant contribution to the brand’s successful development in the United States, Beiersdorf added. He is credited with the successful launches of Nivea Body Wash and Nivea Lip Care in America and, in his latest role, with finding new ways to significantly develop the male grooming offering and reignite growth in related categories. His successor will be named at a later date, the company said.
