TAMPA, Fla. — Pushing ahead with its expansion, Benzer Pharmacy has opened a pair of new locations and earned recognition in its home state for rapid growth.
The Tampa-based retail pharmacy chain last week opened stores in Brandon and Jacksonville, Fla. It now has about 50 stores overall, with locations in Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Nevada and Louisiana.
For its store base, the company has projected growth of two pharmacies per month in 2015, with a goal of having at least 58 locations by the end of the year.
Benzer made this year’s Florida Fast 100 list, coming in at No. 39 with two-year revenue growth of 164%. The list, released earlier this month, ranked the fastest-growing, Florida-based private companies by percentage sales growth from 2012 to 2014.
“Benzer Pharmacy is delighted to once again be recognized and mentioned among the thriving and influential companies represented in this year’s Florida Fast 100,” chief executive officer Manish Patel said in a statement.

Executives noted that 2015 has been a big year for Benzer. After the rebranding of the organization from Rx Care Pharmacy to Benzer Pharmacy, the company has seen explosive growth.
“The Florida Fast 100 recognition comes a month after the company earned the position of 1500 on the 2015 Inc. 5000 list released Aug. 12, 2015,” stated president Alpesh Patel.
“The economy in our state has been showing steady growth, and Tampa in particular continues to be a leading market in Florida’s economic resurgence,” he explained. “Following a successful track record and phenomenal customer service, Benzer Pharmacy is confident that the aggressive growth trajectory will continue beyond 2015, as we are expected to open six more stores across Tampa Bay.”
Benzer specializes in compounding, injectable and oral medications and offers specialty drugs to help patients with complex conditions, such as HIV, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis and hepatitis C.
“The pharmacy has expertise across a broad range of high-growth specialty therapeutic categories, including oncology, immunology, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, HIV and specialty infusion therapy,” according to Sindhu John, a pharmacist at Benzer’s Brandon location.
Along with its patient-centric approach to disease management and the personalized service of its pharmacists, Benzer attributes its swift growth to its integrated package of free home delivery, customized medication packaging, free medication flavoring, online refill services, refill reminders, 90-day prescriptions and e-prescriptions.
“Patients visiting will have a chance for face-to-face consultations with a licensed pharmacist who will address all prescription questions,” commented Carly Tietz, acquisitions manager at Benzer.
