LANGLEY, B.C. – As affordability pressures continue to influence where and how Canadians shop, Pharmasave is expanding opportunities for customers to earn rewards on everyday purchases across health, wellness, personal care and household categories.
With the official launch of Blue Rewards, customers can now earn and redeem Blue Points at more than 800 participating Pharmasave locations nationwide, adding value to the essential items Canadians regularly purchase to support their health and well-being.
“As one of Canada's leading community pharmacies, we're always looking for ways to deliver more value to our customers, especially as affordability continues to be top of mind for Canadians,” explains Ivan Guillen, CEO of Pharmasave. “The reimagined Blue Rewards program gives Canadians a simple and flexible way to earn rewards on everyday health and wellness purchases, while continuing to benefit from the trusted advice and personalized service offered by their local Pharmasave pharmacy team.”
A recent survey found that nearly eight in 10 Canadians (78%) say loyalty programs help them save money on everyday essentials, while nearly three-quarters (72%) say loyalty programs are important when deciding where to shop during periods of economic uncertainty. The survey also found that nearly two-thirds of Canadians (65%) say they are more likely to choose a pharmacy that offers a loyalty or rewards program over one that does not. The Leger survey was commissioned by Blue Rewards.
Blue Rewards marks the next chapter in the evolution of the AIR MILES program, introducing a more flexible, everyday-focused rewards experience connected through BMO. With an easy-to-use points system, expanded benefits, and more redemption opportunities, the reimagined loyalty program is designed to help members unlock greater value from their regular spending. By connecting in-store, online and digital experiences, Blue Rewards gives members more flexible ways to earn and redeem Blue Points.
For Pharmasave, Blue Rewards gives Canadians another reason to return to the same pharmacy team for their health and wellness needs. As pharmacists continue to play an expanding role in healthcare, including providing vaccinations, medication reviews, chronic disease support and minor ailment services, these ongoing relationships between patients and pharmacy teams are becoming even more important. For many Canadians, pharmacists are among the most accessible healthcare professionals in their communities.
"Community pharmacy runs on relationships," says Guillen. "Someone might walk in for the first time to pick up an eligible over-the-counter product and earn Blue Points, and over time, our pharmacy teams get to know them, their health history, their medications and their goals. That familiarity is what turns a transaction into trusted community care."
New Blue Rewards Benefits at Pharmasave
For existing AIR MILES collectors, point balances have automatically been converted to Blue Points at no loss of value, ensuring members retain the full value of their earned rewards. Existing cards and account numbers remain unchanged, with no action required.
Additional offers and promotions will be available throughout the year at participating Pharmasave locations, helping customers earn even more rewards on the health, wellness, personal care and household products they purchase every day.
