PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Camber Pharmaceuticals has launched Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets, expanding its portfolio of generic cardiovascular medications.
The product is the generic equivalent of Hyzaar and combines an angiotensin II receptor blocker with a diuretic. It is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and to reduce cardiovascular risks, including stroke and myocardial infarction.
Losartan Potassium and Hydrochlorothiazide is also indicated to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy, although that benefit has not been demonstrated in Black patients.
Camber offers the tablets in three strengths: 50 mg/12.5 mg, 100 mg/12.5 mg, and 100 mg/25 mg. Each strength is available in 30-, 90- and 1,000-count bottles.
