Camber launches generic Nimbex injection

The launch expands Camber’s hospital and acute care products and provides healthcare providers access to a widely used neuromuscular blocking agent for anesthesia and critical care.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Camber Pharmaceuticals has expanded its injectable product portfolio by launching Cisatracurium [sis-AT-ra-KURE-ee-um] Besylate Injection, USP, a generic version of Nimbex®.

The nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking agent is indicated as an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation in adults and pediatric patients ages 1 month to 12 years. It is also used to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery in pediatric patients ages 2 to 12 years and for mechanical ventilation in adult intensive care unit patients.

The product is available in three presentations:

  • 10 mg/5 mL (2 mg/mL), supplied as 10 x 5 mL single-dose vials
  • 200 mg/20 mL (10 mg/mL), supplied as 10 x 20 mL single-dose vials
  • 20 mg/10 mL (2 mg/mL), supplied as 10 x 10 mL multiple-dose vials

The company noted that its single-dose vials are benzyl alcohol- and preservative-free.
