ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Can-Am Care is launching a line of finger bandages that incorporate a built-in antiseptic proven to kill antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

The company, known for its diabetes care and home health care items, says the product features the same technology as the Kendall AMD wound care products used in hospitals, where methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections are a constant threat.

With MRSA becoming a growing concern in schools and community settings as well, Can-Am Care, together with Covidien, is launching Kendall Antimicrobial Bandages to provide a solution for mothers who want to protect their children.

The product is made from a flexible fabric that allows for better fit and natural movement, while sealing and protecting wounds.

“We have had great success with our post-surgical Kendall AMD wound care products and have developed a product line for general consumer use,” says vice president of sales Chuck Deem.
