DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Celsius Holdings Inc. said its Celsius calorie-burner beverage is now offered at Walgreens drug stores nationwide.
The drug chain is selling four packs of the raspberry acai and peach mango green tea flavors of the Celsius beverage, which is available in the stores’ diet sections.
"Walgreens is a significant retailer addition that will maximize the effectiveness of our national marketing campaign," stated Kelly Michols, vice president of strategic sales for Celsius.
"As people learn about Celsius from TV ads, radio ads, grassroots event marketing, print media or online through social media efforts, they will be able to easily find Celsius at a Walgreens near their home throughout the country," she added. "We are especially excited about the compelling in-store promotions planned at Walgreens to encourage people to try and reward them for buying Celsius."
The company said the Celsius beverage has been scientifically shown to burn up to 100 calories and more per can by raising metabolism and providing sustained energy. It contains no sugar, no preservatives, no high-fructose corn syrup, no aspartame, no artificial flavors and very low sodium. Celsius drinks are powered by MetaPlus, a proprietary blend of ingredients that includes green tea with EGCG, ginger, caffeine, calcium, chromium, and vitamins B and C.
Celsius Holdings has announced a spate of food and drug retail store distributions for the dietary beverage, including Marc’s and Rite Aid last month and, since the fall, Stop & Shop, Giant, Marsh Supermarkets, Bi-Lo, A&P, Pathmark, Harris Teeter, ShopRite, Ralphs, Supervalu and Duane Reade.
