ATLANTA — Coca-Cola Co. has added a no-caffeine product to its Coke Zero soft drink line.
The beverage giant said Wednesday that the new Caffeine Free Coke Zero, which has no calories, gives consumers "a great-tasting option for later-in-the-day consumption."
Plans call for Caffeine Free Coke Zero to hit store shelves in supermarkets, drug stores and mass merchants nationwide in mid-July, and to be available coast to coast in August.
Caffeine Free Coke Zero will come in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans and two-liter bottles. Coca-Cola said it also will offer opportunities for people to sample the new sparkling beverage.
"Caffeine-free products are growing in popularity, making up nearly 30% of all sparkling beverage sales in the U.S.,” Stuart Kronauge, head of sparkling for Coca-Cola North America Group, said in a statement. "By introducing Caffeine Free Coke Zero, we’re giving fans exactly what they want, making the brand accessible for enjoyment all day long."
