DOYLESTOWN, Pa. — ProPhase Labs has added an oral spray to its Cold-EEZE line of over-the-counter homeopathic cold remedies.

The company said Tuesday that the new Cold-EEZE Oral Spray is formulated with zinc gluconate — the same active ingredient in its pharmacist-recommended Cold-EEZE lozenges — and is designed to reduce the severity and duration of the common cold.

Two sprays of Cold-EEZE Oral Spray provide the same amount of cold remedy as one Cold-EEZE lozenge, according to ProPhase Labs. The recommended two sprays per usage offer 13.3 mg of zinc gluconate, and the bottle contains at least 45 doses (90 sprays).

The formula is sprayed on the inside of the cheeks, the roof of mouth and the gums, according to ProPhase Labs.

Cold-EEZE Oral Spray comes in a convenient spray bottle and is available in cherry and mint flavors.

"Our Cold-EEZE Oral Spray is a new opportunity to provide relief to our consumers in a new delivery system," stated Ted Karkus, chairman and chief executive officer of ProPhase Labs. "Our lozenges have always been a leader in the over-the-counter cough and cold category, and we saw Cold-EEZE Oral Spray as the logical next step in offering our consumers variety and alternatives to the traditional lozenge to help them reduce the severity and duration of their colds."
