WASHINGTON — Next month, Emily Skor is slated to join the Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA) as vice president of communications and alliance development.
CHPA said Thursday that Skor is scheduled to start at the association on Feb. 14. Reporting to CHPA president and chief executive officer Scott Melville, she will oversee and provide strategic direction for all association communications, media relations, public education, brand management, consumer and market research, and strategic partnerships.
Skor also will oversee the CHPA Educational Foundation and serve as a member of the association’s senior management team.
"Emily brings to CHPA an outstanding record of developing and implementing strategic communications campaigns that raise awareness, build support, and educate consumers and other stakeholders," Melville said in a statement. "She’ll be a great addition to the CHPA management team and will ensure the association effectively highlights the role and value of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements in our nation’s health care system.”
Most recently, CHPA said, Skor served as senior vice president at Dezenhall Resources, a nationally recognized high-stakes communications firm, where for over a decade she counseled Fortune 500 companies and industry associations in the health care sector, among others. Before that, she managed public affairs and public relations programs for government agencies, nonprofit, and industry associations as a senior account executive at Cohn & Wolf.
"CHPA’s member companies provide over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements that help keep millions of American families healthy and strong every day," Skor commented. "I look forward to leading the association’s efforts to communicate the value of these products in the midst of an ever-changing health care landscape."
