LONGUEUIL, Quebec — The Jean Coutu Group has debuted Jean CoutuPhoto Boutique, a mobile application function that enables iPhone users to order photo prints on the go.

The new photo service, designed for the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad mobile platforms, is a first among Canadian pharmacies.

Under Jean CoutuPhoto Boutique, iPhone users can take photos with their integrated camera, add photos from albums, modify photos, and select, share or print formats. They can also share photos by e-mail, post photos on Facebook or Twitter, or have photos printed for pickup at the nearest Jean Coutu pharmacy.

“We are proud to add this new function to our Jean Coutu application,” says senior vice president of purchasing and marketing Alain Lafortune, adding that the company created the new function in cooperation with Tactio Software.

The application also enables users to consult Info-Med, a new medication information service; synchronize and update the list of Coutu stores; refill prescriptions; pinpoint the five nearest Coutu pharmacies and select favorite stores; view the stores on a map and obtain directions by car, foot or public transportation; play the Coutu jingle by touching the PJC logo on the greeting page; and register a Coutu gift card and Air Miles collector’s numbers.
