CINCINNATI — Crest has expanded its oral care product lineup with Gum Detoxify, a new toothpaste that’s specially formulated to improve gum health.
The Procter & Gamble Co. brand said Wednesday that Crest Gum Detoxify reaches below the gum line to neutralize harmful plaque bacteria and help prevent gingivitis, resulting in clinically proven healthier gums.
Gum Detoxify’s Activated Foam technology seeks out bacteria by penetrating hard-to-reach places and gently cooling gums during and after brushing, according to P&G. The foam also goes around and below the gum line for extended gum protection and “an even, all-over clean,” the company said.
P&G reported that 99% of gingivitis patients showed reduced gum bleeding and inflammation in eight weeks after using Crest Gum Detoxify.
“We know that gum problems and plaque buildup are a root cause of many issues, including bad breath, tartar buildup, cavities and gingivitis,” stated Carlos De Jesus, vice president of North America oral care at Procter & Gamble. “New Gum Detoxify helps users go beyond regular brushing by neutralizing harmful bacteria and ensuring a clean and healthy mouth with lasting gum protection. With so much riding on your gum health, if you aren’t taking care of your gums, you’re not taking care of you.”
Crest Gum Detoxify comes in Deep Clean, Extra Fresh, Gentle Whitening and Two-Step varieties and is now availabe at drug, supermarket and other mass retailers and online retailers nationwide. The Two-Step packages includes Crest Gum Detoxify plus Crest Whitening Two Step Toothpaste.
