Crest, Oral-B campaign advocates for better oral health

Crest and Oral-B have embarked on a "crusade" to help Americans improve their oral hygiene.

CINCINNATI — Crest and Oral-B have embarked on a "crusade" to help Americans improve their oral hygiene.

The Procter & Gamble oral care brands said Thursday that in response to "startling" statistics on the state of America’s oral health, they have launched a nationwide campaign dubbed the "4X Cleaner Crusade" to enlighten people about ways to achieve better dental care.

According to P&G, the initiative challenges Americans to improve their oral care in 2011 by talking to their dentist, using the full lineup of Crest and Oral-B Pro-Health products and eating a balanced diet, since nutrition plays a key role in both oral care and overall health. The company noted that people can achieve four times better plaque reduction with regular use of the Crest and Oral-B Pro-Health system of products versus a regular manual toothbrush and regular anticavity toothpaste.

Crest and Oral-B, as part of the 4X Cleaner Crusade, will visit the two "worst-teeth cities" in America — St. Louis and Philadelphia — as determined by findings in a recent report by Men’s Health magazine, P&G said. The events will allow people to see the plaque left behind on their teeth through a digital plaque imaging system, and a dental professional will be available to answer questions and offer free dental advice, according to the company.
