WOBURN, Mass. — CutisPharma Inc. recently presented studies that attest to the reliability of its Magic Mouthwash prescription compounding kits.
The company said this week that homogeneity and stability studies for compounded formulations of several Magic Mouthwash suspensions demonstrated that its FIRST mouthwash kits are uniform in nature for active ingredients. The findings were presented at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists Northeast Regional Discussion Group (NERDG) Regional Meeting.
CutisPharma noted that FIRST Magic Mouthwash Kits are convenient with reliable stability and uniformity data, whereas the traditional compounding process generally doesn’t have such information available.
"CutisPharma is committed to maintaining the scientific integrity of the products it develops and commercializes," stated Dr. Indu Muni, president and chief executive officer. "Studies of this nature also demonstrate the scientific reliability of FIRST products, as well as confirm their user-friendliness and time-saving benefits."
FIRST products are designed to save dispensing time and can be compounded by the pharmacist as the patient waits. Using FIRST Mouthwash kits, pharmacists can accurately compound a prescription faster than those prepared in the conventional way, according to CutisPharma. The company added that a single NDC number for the entire kit facilitates the third-party reimbursement and reduces audit-related adjustments.
Currently, CutisPharma has 20 proprietary prescription compounding kits, including five progesterone suppository kits, two testosterone kits, one hydrocortisone kit, six Magic Mouthwash kits, three omeprazole suspension kits, and three lansoprazole suspension kits.
