CVS Caremark lands Pennsylvania Rx benefits pact

The Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF) has awarded CVS Caremark Corp. a three-year contract to provide prescription drug benefits to Pennsylvania state employees.

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Employees Benefit Trust Fund (PEBTF) has awarded CVS Caremark Corp. a three-year contract to provide prescription drug benefits to Pennsylvania state employees.

PEBTF said Wednesday that CVS Caremark will start providing drug benefits to Pennsylvania employees, retirees and their dependents on July 1.

The fund noted that in addition to CVS Caremark’s network and clinical programs, PEBTF members — through the pharmacy provider’s Maintenance Choice 2.0 program — will be able to pick up a 90-day supply of maintenance medications at any CVS/pharmacy store at the same co-payment as the mail-order pharmacy. The chain has nearly 400 drug stores in Pennsylvania.

The PEBTF account will be serviced from the CVS Caremark mail-order pharmacy in Wilkes Barre, Pa., and the specialty pharmacy and the customer service center in Monroeville, Pa.
