WOONSOCKET, R.I. — CVS Pharmacy is expanding its community health footprint through a new multi-year partnership with U.S. Soccer Federation and the National Women’s Soccer League, positioning the retailer as an Official Health and Wellness Partner of both organizations.
The initiative involves a long-term investment to develop community multiuse soccer fields in select markets through 2028, emphasizing the company’s focus on neighborhood health engagement and access to wellness resources.
“CVS Pharmacy is uniquely positioned to strengthen health at the community level,” said Len Shankman, Executive Vice President and President, Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness, CVS Health. “As an Official Health and Wellness Partner of U.S. Soccer and the NWSL, we have a valuable opportunity to deepen our ties in the neighborhoods we serve.”
As part of the expanded effort, CVS will sponsor Washington Spirit, Seattle Reign FC and Kansas City Current, building on its existing support of women’s soccer, including its partnership with Washington Spirit since 2020. The club-level activations are expected to include community programming, matchday engagement, and investments in local economic development and inclusive access to sport.

At the center of the initiative is a soccer field revitalization program designed to create accessible spaces where families and young athletes can gather, play and connect. CVS is teaming with Alex Morgan, a two-time Women’s World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist, along with U.S. Soccer ambassadors and NWSL clubs, to amplify community health messaging and promote youth access to the sport.
“Soccer has shaped my life in countless ways, and I’ve seen firsthand how access to the game can build confidence, health and community,” Morgan said. “I’m excited to work with CVS to help ensure more kids and families can experience the joy and well-being soccer brings.”
David Wright, chief commercial officer of U.S. Soccer, said the partnership connects a trusted national brand with grassroots impact. “By working with CVS, a brand trusted by millions of families across the country, we have an opportunity to meet fans and families where they are and connect the game they love with everyday wellness.”
Beyond infrastructure investments, CVS announced it will strengthen local causes in Washington, D.C., Seattle, and Kansas City through club-led initiatives and community programs focused on movement, connection, and preventive health.
The partnership highlights the increasing connection between retail pharmacy, women’s sports, and community-based wellness programs as chains aim for more meaningful engagement beyond just the store.
