TAMPA, Fla. — DataMEDS AI has signed a nonbinding memorandum of understanding with a Florida-based health maintenance organization (HMO) to introduce its Health Lives Here mobile application, initially targeting patients taking GLP-1 medications for diabetes and obesity.
The proposed program aims to improve medication adherence, reduce hospitalizations and adverse drug events, and strengthen quality-of-care measures, including Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) scores and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) star ratings.
The HMO, which has requested anonymity, expects to serve 25,000 to 30,000 members in 2027, following the close of open enrollment on December 8. Its membership includes Medicare Advantage beneficiaries enrolled in Chronic Condition Special Needs Plans and Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans.
Under the proposed arrangement, DataMEDS would receive per-member-per-month payments for access to the Health Lives Here application, along with additional revenue from its GLP-1 patient management services. The company could also generate revenue from pharmacy dispensing, diagnostic testing and medical food products.
DataMEDS’ Corexa Pharmacy is already in-network with the HMO’s pharmacy benefits manager and with Medicare, and its Helomics diagnostic laboratory participates in Medicare. NFL Alumni Health, a strategic marketing partner of Health Lives Here, is expected to support member engagement efforts.
“HMOs represent a significant opportunity for DataMEDS and Health Lives Here,” said Gerald Commissiong, interim co-CEO of DataMEDS. “This agreement positions us to add our first corporate customer that will allow us to fine-tune our offering for the needs of payors.”
The companies expect to finalize definitive agreements in the fourth quarter of 2026, with an initial rollout planned for the first quarter of 2027. The agreement remains nonbinding, and implementation depends on executing final contracts.
DataMEDS, formerly Wellgistics Health, integrates pharmacy services, diagnostics, and healthcare technology through its EinsteinRx artificial intelligence platform and the PharmacyChain blockchain-enabled platform.
