MARYVILLE, Tenn. — With back-to-school season now under way, DenTek is reminding busy students and their parents of the need to keep up regular oral care.
"From school-age children to college students, practicing daily oral hygiene routines is a must," noted Charlotte Havely, director of marketing for DenTek. "Growing up with solid oral care habits saves money down the road and keeps your smile looking its best."
According to Havely, younger DenTek consumers like Fun Flossers, Braces Clean floss picks and interdental brushes for removing food and plaque. College-age students prefer various types of floss picks, such as DenTek’s Comfort Clean with silky floss, Triple Clean with scrubbing floss and Complete Clean with shred-proof floss, as well as tongue cleaners that help to stave off bad breath.
"Fun and colorful flossers with easy-to-grip handles are a great way to encourage kids to start practicing proper oral care at an early age," stated Havely. "Parents should also teach their children what can happen, like cavities and root canals, when you forget to routinely brush or floss."
This fall, DenTek is helping college students nationwide assume better care of their oral health by bringing the Tooth Fairy to campuses from coast to coast, armed with floss pick samples.
The campaign kicks off at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, with stops at Ohio State University, New York University, Texas A&M, UCLA and UC Berkeley.
"With school in full swing for students of all ages," Havely added, "now is the perfect time for parents to schedule their child’s dental cleanings for the year."
